Añade un disco SSD
Si tu PC ya tiene unos años, seguramente tendrás un disco duro normal tipo SATA.
Puede mejorar mucho el rendimiento de tu PC si añades un disco de estado sólido (SSD) e instalas el sistema operativo en este disco.
Los discos SSD han bajado bastante de precio y aumentado considerablemente su capacidad.

Este tipo por ejemplo tiene una capacidad de 480GB con una velocidad de acceso de lectura de 500 GB/s
Cambiar tu disco duro tradicional por un disco SSD es una de las mejores opciones para mejorar rendimiento de tu Windows 10
Añade más memoria
Si normalmente abres varios documentos a la vez o ejecutas programas pesados, te recomiendo que aumentes la memoria RAM del sistema.
Ten en cuenta que el sistema operativo Windows 10 para que vaya más o menos ligero ya necesita 5 Gb de memoria, si ejecutas varias aplicaciones a la vez es conveniente tener suficiente memoria adicional para que el rendimiento del PC no caíga en picado.
La memoria ha bajado mucho de precio y tener unos 8 a 16 Gb de memoria mejorara mucho el rendimiento de tu PC.
Para añadir módulos de memoria tienes que fijarte bien en la velocidad y la marca. Para evitarte problemas todos los módulos deben ser iguales (marca. velocidad y fabricante)
Aumenta el rendimiento de tu red
Si tu tarjeta de red es de 10/100 MB añade a tu PC una tarjeta de red de 1 Gb. El acceso a los PCs de la red o a un servidor se verá incrementada por 10.
Si te conectas a un servidor o a internet para bajar muchos datos, al poner una tarjeta de 1 Gb notarás un incremento en la velocidad bastante considerable.
Si accedes por Wifi y tu router lo permite intenta hacerte con una conexión por Wifi 802.11ac verás un incremento importante en la velocidad de conexión.
Reinstala el sistema operativo
Si tu PC es extremadamente lento y ya tiene unos años, intenta renovar el sistema operativo o reinstalalo de nuevo.
Normalmente cuando instalas el sistema operativo, el PC tiene un buen rendimiento, pero con el paso de los años debido a que instalas nuevas aplicaciones, eliminas las que ya no usas, añades y borras ficheros, etc.. El rendimiento del PC baja de forma considerable.
Al reinstalar el sistema operativo lo dejas como lo tenias cuando lo compraste.
La pega es que tendrás que volver a reinstalar las aplicaciones que uses más habitualmente, pero en mi opinión vale la pena gastar ese tiempo y conseguir que tu Windows 10 vaya mucho más rápido.
A veces es más fácil y rápido volver a instalarlo todo (sistema y aplicaciones) que intentar solucionar problemas que te vayan surgiendo.
Actualiza tu sistema operativo
Ten tu sistema siempre actualizado con las últimas versiones y parches.
Actualiza los drivers de tu dispositivos para obtener un mayor rendimiento general del sistema.
La actualización del sistema operativo siempre es un tema controvertido porque a veces hay problemas con las actualizaciones y tienden a instarse en el momento mas inoportuno.
Puedes programar una hora o día que más te convenga para actualizar el sistema y que no interrumpa en tus tareas diarias.
